A client reached out to me in regards to creating them a custom cork board. They requested something with a wide frame and a lot of strength. A big concern was they also wanted the cork board to match other items in the room which were stained the same color and the same wood species. They also wanted the frame to to have a modern look. So instead of the conventional length pieces overlapping the width pieces. I offset the corners. So it doesn’t match. It doesn’t all go from left to right. It adds an interesting look to it.
The cork board is 3 feet long by 2 feet wide. It is made out of hard maple. It is hung on the wall with blind hangers. This is so it can be moved but can still hold a good amount of weight. It is finished with a semi gloss clear coat.
